POSITION: Marketing Coordinator, SFIAAFF

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: December 3, 2007 – December 31, 2007, part-time
January 2, 2008 – March 31, 2008, full-time
PAY: $2,500 per month (full time, exempt, temporary, no benefits)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Marketing Coordinator, under the direction of the Marketing Manager, will support all marketing strategies related to the 26th San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival (SFIAAFF), which takes place March 13-23, 2008. The position is responsible for implementing online and print advertising, community outreach, viral marketing, materials distribution, and other tasks.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • Develop and implement advertising strategies and content including print, TV, radio, video, and direct mail
  • Maintain current database of community co-presenters
  • Research, solicit and confirm community co-presenters for all programs at the Festival
  • Coordinate and schedule attendance of high school students at annual Schools at the Festival screenings
  • Create and distribute promotional flyers for Festival programs to organizations, public schools, and businesses
  • Ensure that festival information on website is up-to-date and accurate
  • Coordinate distribution and replenishment of Festival program guides, mini guides, and posters throughout the Bay Area
  • Implement on-line and viral marketing strategies

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent communication and design skills
  • Knowledge of Bay Area Asian American community organizations
  • Detail-oriented, team-player, and able to work under deadline
  • Experience with marketing, event planning and/or public relations
  • Fluency in Mac-based applications including MS Office, Filemaker Pro, and Photoshop
  • HTML knowledge a plus
